
ROMANCE AND PARENTING POLL RESULTS
The Romance & Parenting poll, is sponsored by Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts and administered to 401 men and women, from July 7-9, 2009.
Couples with children want to be more romantic, but can’t find time for it. The majority of parents surveyed said that the desire for romance was still alive, but the lack of time made it difficult. Among the top obstacles to romance, according to the national poll, were exhaustion, privacy and lack of planning.
Has Anyone Seen My Romance?
- 64 percent of parents surveyed said that while romance has decreased significantly since they had kids, they want to be more romantic
- 55 percent wish intimacy was more often
- 61 percent don’t really plan it, but hope to squeeze it in somewhere along the way
What Happened to Date Night?
- Only 1/3 of couples interviewed go on a date at least once a month
- Less than 1/2 go out at least 6 times a year
- Worst of all, 1 in 5 couples NEVER go on a date
Pillow Talk or Bed Head?
- Among both men and women, exhaustion ranked as the number one obstacle to romance
- 63 percent of women and 49 percent of men reported they are just too tired to tango
- Work, lack of privacy and kid’s schedules were among the other top obstacles to romance

- Remember the days of sneaking away from your parents to fool around with your main squeeze in high school? Well it looks like it’s gone full circle…sort of. As parents, you’re now sneaking away from your kids to steal minute of romance. Check out some of the most popular places for a romantic rendezvous (listed in order of popularity):
- Bathroom and/or Shower
- Car (on a dark side street, in the driveway or in a parking lot!)
- Hotel
- Bedroom
- Garage (seriously!)
