When my husband and I were married in 1977, we went to a romantic resort in the Poconos for our honeymoon. In 1996, nearly two decades later, I was diagnosed with a serious medical condition and told that I may not make it to our 20th wedding anniversary.

In an attempt to cheer me up, my husband did some research with the resort where we honeymooned and found out the specific suite we stayed in in 1977 and booked it as a 19th anniversary surprise for me. We had an incredibly romantic weekend then—one that we hope to recreate this summer. I am happy to say as a now healthy woman, my husband and I will be celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary in that same suite in the Poconos this July!
